DE PROFUNDIS –
FROM THE DEPTHS
Black and white as fields of inner depth.
Reduced black-and-white works in which depth, density, and presence take form.
Image and poetic fragments meet as parallel resonances, remaining deliberately open.
Where black and white meet
A series of reduced black-and-white works.
Depth, density, and presence take form.
Image and poetic fragments exist alongside one another — without hierarchy, without resolution.
Presented at Literaturhaus Henndorf, 2025.
DE PROFUNDIS – FROM THE DEPTHS
paper, acrylic, lyrical fragments | 2025
DE PROFUNDIS – AUS DER TIEFE is a body of work composed of reduced black-and-white images.
Depth, density, and presence take form through layering and material concentration.
The works do not resolve into fixed meanings.
They remain open, without narrative direction.
The images function as fields of projection.
Perception unfolds without guidance.
Fragments of poetry — including texts by Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann — appear alongside the works as parallel resonances.
Image and language exist without hierarchy.
Presented at Literaturhaus Henndorf in 2025,
the series unfolds across multiple spaces, inviting a slow, attentive encounter.

ON THE TITLES OF THE SERIES
The titles in DE PROFUNDIS follow a non-narrative system. Terms such as LEVEL and numerical coordinates do not refer to geographical locations or measurable data. They function as internal markers — indicating positions, depths, or states within an imagined inner space. The titles do not name what is seen. They provide orientation while remaining abstract. The system is consistent throughout the series, yet intentionally opaque. The images remain primary.
COLLECTIVE INTERPRETATIONS
During the exhibition, visitors responded to three selected works from DE PROFUNDIS – FROM THE DEPTHS.
Alongside poetic texts by the artist and AI-generated interpretations, handwritten reflections, impressions, and fragments emerged.
These responses extend the work into a shared field of resonance.
Image and language continue beyond the artist’s authorship.
The contributions are presented as photographic documentation —
preserving the immediacy and individuality of each encounter.
STUDIO NOTES
The works in DE PROFUNDIS – FROM THE DEPTHS emerge from an intuitive, inward, and largely non-verbal process. I work with black acrylic on paper. Forms, tensions, and densities surface gradually. Images often appear before language. Associations arise slowly and remain unresolved. I am interested in this threshold — where something becomes visible without being fully named. Text enters at a later stage. Fragments of poetry, remembered lines, and AI-generated responses accompany the images — not as explanations, but as echoes. Meaning moves between image, language, and perception. The studio is a space of listening rather than control.
